Tricky: Different When It’s Silent

Tricky is 58 , it’s good to know there is someone older than me. One of the progenitors of trip hop, but often times seems not as beloved. Is he the Novak Djokovic of the triphop big three? It’s not for me to say but between, him, Portishead and Massive Attack, it’s fair to stay he is the one one never left and has been more prolific than the rest of his cohorts. His output throughout the decades has assembled quite an impressive discography that could rival Radiohead’s in terms of qulality. Different When It’s Silent is Tricky on a new plane, full of live instrumentation, with some sparse moments here in there and assisted almost entirely by Mitch Sanders – who I shamefully never heard of, because he is a great singer. This record is definitely worth a listen.
